Apple and Google reportedly looking to appeal anti-poaching settlement rejection

In April of 2014, Apple (and several other companies, including Google) settled a class-action lawsuit that had been brought against them for anti-poaching practices. The total number was $324 million. On August 8, it was reported that that settlement had been rejected by Judge Lucy Koh. And now the case will march on. Continue reading

Apple negotiates lower credit card transaction fees for mobile payments

The Wall Street Journal this afternoon confirmed that mobile payments are going to be a major focus of the iPhone 6 and Apple’s first smartwatch, both of which are expected to be unveiled at the company’s upcoming September 9th media event in San Francisco. As part of this initiative, Apple has reportedly negotiated lower credit card transaction fees with major credit card issuers for mobile payments.  Continue reading
