Apple announced at the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus event that iOS 8 will be released on September 17. However, it looks like just like the previous beta versions it is possible for non-developers (i.e.  without having their iOS device's UDID registered with a developer account) to install iOS 8 golden master (GM) that was seeded on September 9th. Samsung has released a new advertisement for the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 smartphone this afternoon, ahead of the handset’s launch in October. The one-minute spot details how the Galaxy Note used to be ridiculed by tech publications for having such a large screen, yet now Apple is imitating the product line with its own 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.  Continue reading

The first iPhone 6 orders begin shipping for September 19 delivery

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 12th, receiving an unprecedented number of orders overnight. It now appears that the first batch of those orders are beginning to ship to customers, as Verizon has issued notices to those who pre-ordered with a tracking number and estimated delivery date.  Continue reading

Apple drops iCloud Photo Library from iOS 8 ahead of public release

Just days ahead of the public release of iOS 8 for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models, Apple appears to have pushed back iCloud Photo Library to a beta feature and removed it from the iOS 8 Golden Master version seeded last week. Apple has also removed any references of iCloud Photo Library from its website.  Continue reading
