iCloud.com could gain Photos app ahead of Photos for OS X release

With the release of Photos for OS X not slated until early next year, it seemed that there might be no way for Mac customers to view pictures from their iCloud Photo Library without using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. A few different screenshots and error messages, however, reveal that Apple could soon be adding a Photos app to iCloud.com. Continue reading

iPhone 6 Plus costs just $15.50 more to build over iPhone 6

Yesterday, a teardown analysis of the iPhone 6 revealed that it costs Apple somewhere in the $200 range to build the smartphone based on parts and labor alone. Taking a closer look at the numbers, research firm IHS claims that it costs Apple a mere $15.50 extra to build an iPhone 6 Plus compared to the iPhone 6, despite charging a $100 premium for the larger smartphone in all three storage capacities. iPhone 6 crowned as 'most durable iPhone yet' in breakability test

SquareTrade has put the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus under a series of breakability tests to see how well the smartphones stack up against four foot drops, water damage, sliding across wood and plastic surfaces and more. The results show that the iPhone 6 was the most durable iPhone ever in these tests, while the iPhone 6 Plus also did quite well. Continue reading
