'Lucky bag' or Fukubukuro is a Japanese New Year's Day tradition, where bags with unknown merchandise are sold at huge discounts. Every year, Apple participates in the Japanese "Lucky bag" tradition.   Apple has reportedly worked out deals with several large Japanese publishers to bring the iBookstore to Japan as early as this month.
