Netbook as Tablet or Tablet as Netbook: Which Will People Prefer?
I have to be honest, I haven’t seen a Microsoft Surface Tablet “in the wild” yet. Granted I also haven’t been wandering the coffee shops and other places I might find one lately, but the times I have been out and about I’ve seen plenty of iPads (very few other tablets though). I had gotten pretty tired of the whole Angry Birds thing, at least until all the apps went on sale! I took that opportunity to get a few of the apps I didn’t have (Star Wars and Space, actually) and I found that Angry Birds Space is pretty freaking fun (and amazing) to play. The nuances of gravity add so much more “fun with physics” to the game. Today Angry Birds Space has an update with 30 new levels and a new physics challenge for you—water. Continue reading

Skifta Brings DLNA Streaming to iOS Devices for Free
If you don’t have an Apple TV, but other connected devices like home theaters or DVD players or even game consoles, then you’ve probably come across DNLA. DLNA is the alternative to AirPlay that everyone else in the tech world uses and it’s pretty frustrating that Apple devices just won’t play ball (easily) with DLNA. Qualcomm Atheros wants to change that with Skifta as free iOS app that lets your iDevice connect and stream to DLNA/UPnP devices on your network. Continue reading

Steve Jobs Offered to Help Ousted HP CEO Mark Hurd to Get Back in the Company
HP has been in a lot of trouble lately, with its revenues dwindling as growth in the printer and PC industry slows down. In 2010, HP's board forced the then CEO Mark Hurd to resign amidst allegations of sexual harassment. Sadly it was also Hurd who helped HP stock rise 130% during his tenure. Steve Jobs tried to lend a hand to Hurd, even offering to speak to the board on his behalf, in hopes of keeping a solid leader at HP’s helm. Continue reading
