Relying On Apps For A Diagnosis Could Be Misleading, Even Deadly
There are a number of apps in the App Store that are supposed to help you identify if that funny looking mole is cancer or just a mole. While this is great in theory, turns out in practice you could be doing yourself more harm than good. You could, in fact, be putting your health at risk. A dermatologist from the University of Pittsburg tested four apps and found they  were wrong at least 30% of the time. That would be okay, scary but okay, if it was a false positive, but the apps were wrong saying that the cancer was normal when it wasn’t. Continue reading

Kariem McFarlin was charged and pleaded no contest to a string of robberies in and around San Francisco, including breaking into Steve Jobs’ home and stealing several of Jobs’ personal items. Apple says appeals court decisions hinder patent protection efforts against Samsung
Apple has asked a panel of judges involved in the ongoing appeals of the Apple-Samsung court battle to review two court decisions that allow Samsung to continue to sell products (like the Google Nexus phone) that have already been found to infringe on Apple designs and patents. The crux of Apple’s argument is that by allowing Samsung to continue selling the devices during the appeals process, the courts are allowing damage to continue unfettered—at a cost to the patent holder.
