CBS Open To Making Its Content Available On Apple TV, Provided Terms Are Right
CBS President and CEO Les Moonves, during the company’s quarterly earnings call, said that CBS is open to striking a deal with Apple for making its video content available on the Apple TV, as long as the deal is on terms decided by CBS execs. Moonves had previously detailed his conversation with former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, in which he turned down an offer to be a part of Apple’s (not yet announced) subscription video service. $5 Friday: DesktopShelves
Me, I like a tidy Desktop. Sure I save things to the Desktop (like the images I use for these posts), but once a week or so I clean house, deleting almost everything from my Desktop. Now my buddies AJ and Shane, well they have Desktops that make my eyes bleed. Files and folders everywhere. I'm seriously thinking I should buy them each a copy of DesktopShelves. It's not going to be a big deal either because, it's our first $5 Friday! DesktopShelves does one simple thing. You create "shelves" (they look like shelves you have on your wall) to hold files and folders on your Desktop. It's a virtual thing, really, everything is still in a folder in the Finder, but it looks better. Check out the movie after the jump. Continue reading

Apple Wanted To Use Curved Glass Design For iPhone; But Abandoned It Due To High Costs
A number of iPhone prototype designs were revealed in court documents, filed by Apple, during the past few weeks. While the documents did give a rare peek into Apple’s secretive internal prototype designs, it didn’t include the reasons for which many of those designs were shelved. Firemonkeys Announces Real Racing 3 For iPhone And iPad; Releases First Trailer
Last month, EA had announced that it was consolidating its two biggest mobile studios based in Melbourne, Australia – Firemint makers of popular iOS games such as Flight Control, Real Racing, which it had acquired last year, and Iron Monkey – developers of EA games such as Mass Effect Infiltrator and Dead Space, to form Firemonkeys. The newly formed studio have announced the next iteration of the popular Real Racing series – Real Racing 3 at EA’s summer conference held yesterday. Continue reading
