Next-Gen iPhone to Come with a 19-Pin “Mini” Dock Connector
Back in February, iMore had reported that Apple is planning to replace the standard 30-pin dock connector that is used in the iPhone, iPad and iPod with something more compact, which they called the “micro dock”. The reason for replacing the 30-pin connector with something more compact is to make room for components for next generation iOS devices, such as 4G radios, bigger batteries, new sensors etc. Continue reading

Foxconn’s CEO, Terry Gou, while speaking to China Times urged customers to refrain from buying Samsung’s newly released Galaxy S3 smartphone until Apple releases the new iPhone. It’s strange to see Foxconn’s CEO openly talking to the press about a future Apple product, after Tim Cook said that Apple’s “doubling down” on secrecy. Microsoft unveiled their next generation mobile operating system – Windows Phone 8 codenamed “Apollo” at the Windows Phone Developer Summit in San Francisco. The update addresses a number of shortcomings that were present in Windows Phone 7, like the lack of support for multi-core processors and high resolution displays.
