| Microsoft Announces New 10.6-Inch ‘Surface’ Tablets Running Windows 8 Posted: 18 Jun 2012 09:30 PM PDT As rumored, Microsoft has unveiled its own tablets called Microsoft Surface to take on Apple’s iPad and other Android-based tablets at today’s media event. Microsoft will be offering two versions of their tablet, which will come with 10.6-inch multitouch display – the first one is powered by an ARM processor and will run Windows 8 RT – the tablet version of Windows 8 and the second one is powered by an Intel Core processor and will run Windows 8 Pro – a desktop version of Windows 8. | Mozilla Showcases Prototype iPad Browser Named “Junior” Posted: 18 Jun 2012 01:06 PM PDT Apple’s App Store policies have kept a lot of popular desktop browser away from the iPad and the iPhone. The policies disallow apps on the App Store to use their own rendering engine to parse HTML, CSS and JavaScript, instead encouraging them to use the inbuilt WebKit rendering engine. It is for this reason that Mozilla hasn’t released a full blown browser for iOS devices, like it did for Android.
