iPad 4′s A6X Chip: Here’s What We Know So Far
Apple surprised a lot of us during its Special Event yesterday, when it announced a whole new fourth generation iPad as opposed to the tweaked third generation iPad we all were expecting. While the fourth generation iPad retains the same size, weight and design as its predecessor, it comes with a number of tweaks and changes, the most notable of which is of course Apple's all new A6X chip. US International Trade Commission (ITC) Judge Thomas Pender  has ruled that Samsung infringes on four Apple patents including one for the design of the iPhone and one related to touch-screen technology co-invented by Steve Jobs. Letterpress: Simple And Addictive Word Game By Developer Of Tweetie
It’s been a while since we’ve written about an iPhone game, so the fact that we’re writing about one should give you a hint, how much we like it. Letterpress is a new iPhone game developed by Loren Brichter of Atebits. Brichter had developed Tweetie, an extremely popular Twitter client for the iPhone. Tweetie was renamed as “Twitter for iPhone“ after Twitter bought Brichter’s company – Atebits in 2010. iPad Trade-Ins Shoot Up By 700 Percent
MarketWatch reports that iPad resales at electronics trade-in sites Gazelle and NextWorth are up by huge numbers, after Apple unveiled a new iPad mini and refreshed the larger iPad during yesterday's keynote. The iPad mini is a new product with a 7.9 inch display, and a much smaller form factor. The iPad 4, meanwhile, retains the same size and design as the 3rd generation iPad, but has a much faster processor. Continue reading

Hone Your Design Skills With The Learn To Design Bundle [Deals Hub]
Right then, now that yesterday's excitement is behind us (here's a wrap up in case you missed it), time to get schooled. Oh not in a bad way, but in the "how'd you like to learn the core apps designers and developers need in their jobs for $100?" way. This learning bundle, IMHO, is like design school in a (virtual) box—Learn To Design Bundle. Many of you might not realize that in addition to writing blog posts and books, I teach WordPress and social media. In fact I taught for a while at one of the local IT Universities where my students were learning all this stuff. They compressed a lot of learning into a couple years, and while roughly a hundred plus hours of video doesn't replace time in the classroom…it certainly helps refresh your memory or prepare for school. HAND Stylus Might Be The Best Stylus Yet

HAND Stylus Might Be The Best Stylus Yet
I've tried lots and lots and lots stylii (styluses?) over the years. From some of the original Pogo Sketch models (which I still keep as backup) to the new brush-like models like the BRVSH and I have had some favs (like the Pogo Sketch Pro, which I wore out—or my nephew chewed through), but all of them have been lacking a bit. Some don't have the right heft, some don't have a pen clip, others don't have tips that aren't precise or responsive, essentially I was still seeking the best yet. When I saw the HAND Stylus on Kickstarter I backed it right away. A retractible nib that even rotates a little bit as you retract it so the tip wears evenly. Precision-made aluminum body like a good mechanical pencil. Pen clip that works with the iPad Smart Cover. It seemed perfect. It took a long, long while to get to me, but it was certainly worth the wait. Continue reading

Apple’s Phil Schiller Defends iPad mini Pricing
Apple finally unveiled iPad mini at yesterday’s media event starting at $329, which was on the higher side of our estimates. Some users have been quite disappointed with the pricing of the iPad mini, who have felt that it is too expensive compared to the cheaper Android based tablets like Amazon Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7 that start at $199. 4th Gen iPad vs. 3rd Gen iPad: Spec Shootout

4th Gen iPad vs. 3rd Gen iPad: Spec Shootout
Apple released a tweaked version of the third generation iPad at its media event in San Jose, California. Contrary to expectations though, Apple surprised us by calling it the fourth generation iPad, rather than calling it an incremental upgrade. The 4th generation iPad looks exactly like the iPad 3 (new iPad), but it comes with a number of improvements such as Apple’s new faster A6X chip, FaceTime HD camera, expanded LTE support and more.
