The 5th gen iPod touch, as you might have heard, doesn’t pack in an ambient light sensor, which means that it doesn’t support auto-brightness adjustment found in many other iOS devices, including the previous generation iPod touch. The omission was puzzling, since Apple considered the feature important enough to include in practically all iOS products they’ve shipped till now. Back in June, Microsoft took most of the tech world by surprise by unveiling its own tablets called Microsoft Surface to take on Apple’s iPad and Android-based tablets.
