Apple makes phones. They’re amazing phones. But, they’re expensive phones. Apple will sell “cheaper” phones later this year. They’re going to be made out of plastic, not metal and glass. The iPad has a great battery life, but it requires a huge battery that accounts for most of the bulk added since the Retina iPad. A new display technology called IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) could improve the energy consumption of mobile devices, and hence require a less powerful battery for the same 10 hour battery life. Apple found guilty of fixing E-Book prices
Reuters reports that a U.S. federal judge has found Apple guilty of fixing e-book prices in violation of the antitrust law. The Department of Justice had filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple and five publishers over allegations of fixing e-book charges in April 2012. Continue reading
