Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt spoke at an event yesterday where he said the company was talking with Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung about live video streaming. This sounds exciting, and some of you are already thinking about an Apple television, but let’s put things in perspective. A couple of months back, Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White claimed that Apple will be launching a 60-inch television with a ring-like accessory to be placed on the user’s finger that would act like a motion controller. People often point at Samsung and their crazy sales numbers and wonder why Apple doesn’t have the same sort of figures. The answer is simple, Samsung’s product portfolio is much more broad, covering quite a few price points.
