Apple’s relationship with Foxconn in danger as Pegatron is said to be making the cheap iPhone
Apple sure designs a lot of beautiful hardware and software, but when it comes time to do the dirty work of putting things together, they call on Foxconn to do their bidding. That’s slowly starting to change though. According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple started working with a new firm called Pegatron back in 2011 on small scale iPhone and iPad mini production. Now it looks like Pegatron may become the “primary assembler of a low-cost iPhone” slated to launch later this year. Continue reading
