Great Sports Apps for iPhone and iPad
I wouldn’t ever say that I’m a rabid sports fan. Sure I try to keep tabs on the Red Sox, Patriots, and Canucks, but “keeping” tabs only means checking in now and then to see how they are doing in the standings and maybe catching a game on TV now and then. Other folks, maybe even you, like to folks all kinds of different sports. What better way to keep up with your teams, leagues, and sports than with an app, right? Watching sports has to be another place where the second (or third or fourth) screen fits in perfectly. The question is, what’s the right app for you? Continue reading

FloJack Brings NFC To iPhone, iPad And iPod touch
A notable absentee in the past few Apple launches has been NFC, the technology hailed as the solution to all mobile payment problems. How To Check The Actual Signal Strength On Your iPhone
In case you didn’t know, it is possible to see the signal strength indicator in numbers instead of signal bars on any iPhone (except the original iPhone) without jailbreaking it and it’s reversible.  It has been one of the old hidden features that works on the iPhone running iOS 4.1 or later. It’s a lot more useful to see the signal strength indicator as a number [in decibels(dBm)] rather than as a signal bar (after we explain how to read the number a little bit later). Continue reading

Facebook Asks Employees To
As Facebook readies its rewritten native Android app to the public, Facebook is encouraging more of its employees to use Android devices instead of the iPhone by putting up posters all over its campus. Facebook's goal—get all its employees to test its Android app for bugs. The campaign is called "droidfooding," and is derived from the term "dogfooding," which refers to when company employees use their own products.  Continue reading
