3 ways to keep your iOS devices out of the bedroom
The Wall Street Journal published a piece this week on how there are an increasing number of people working from their beds – and in the wee hours of the morning to boot. The glow of screens lighting up people's faces can actually cast a shadow on their productivity and health over the long haul. Side effects can eventually become permanent effects, and that's definitely not a good thing. Continue reading

AR-MAPS Let’s You See Where You Are On a Map and Reality
I don’t think we’ve really gotten to the point where augmented reality (AR) is either a) pervasive or b) practical, however I think this clever AR map app from Japan might just be a step in the right direction. Continue reading

If You Subscribe to Podcasts, Make Sure You’ve Updated to iOS 6.0.1
Odd that this didn’t come to light earlier, but seems that there was a pretty significant bug introduced in iOS 6.0, which is fixed in iOS 6.0.1, that causes podcast episodes to download over and over again while you’re listening to the episode. Essentially, although you might have finished downloading the whole file in the first couple minutes, iOS would go back and re-download it all over again. And again. And again. Continue reading

Did iOS 6.0.1 Fix Your WiFi Issues?
Lots of folks had persistent (and annoying) issues with WiFi on their iPhone 5s and other iOS devices with iOS 6. I had to troubleshoot, oh, all the iOS devices in my house to get the WiFi back up to snuff. When iOS 6.0.1 was released, all the problems were supposed to be fixed, but were they? Continue reading

HTC Droid DNA Has a Mind-Blowing Screen, But Does It Really Matter?
The HTC Droid DNA has an unbelievable 440ppi 5 inch 1080p screen. A screen that blows the iPhone 5′s screen out of the water—by a country mile. Here’s the thing. As the commenter Sleepy pointed out in my iPad mini post, it’s not all about numbers or having the biggest number on the box that matters. Because, frankly, are we really, really seriously, going to be able to tell the difference between a 300+ ppi screen and a 440 ppi screen? Continue reading

The iPad mini is Eating Away at Some Devices, But It’s Not What We Thought or Feared
Analysts predicted, and rightly so, that with the launch of the iPad mini, some people would opt for one of those over an iPad. While that’s turned out to be true to some extent, it’s not the iPad who should really be worried—it’s the Windows PC. Continue reading

Oh who doesn’t like a nice, juicy Apple Store rumor, huh? Word is from 9to5Mac that the LTE models of the 4th Generation iPad (LTE iPad 4) are on the shelves at Apples Stores, but they aren’t for sale yet. So the question is…when. Continue reading

Camera+ Brings Operation ÜberCam to Life with Front Flash, Level Indicators, and much more
There is a reason why Camera+ stays at the top of camera app picks, tap tap tap keeps making the app better and better with each major update. Granted, sometimes it’s a while between them, but still. Today Camera+ 3.6 came out (the iPad version was updated as well with the same features) with a few cool features and the usual fixes. Continue reading
