And if you’ll pardon my Shakespearean reference in the title, I think that while Lopp makes some great points—especially about collaboration and consensus—I also think Apple needs a mix of both the fire of Steve Jobs and Scott Forstall and a collaborative executive team that can work together. iMessage and Other IP Apps Killing SMS Posted: 12 Nov 2012 02:20 PM PST I remember when iMessage first came out and thought, yeah the carriers are going to freakin’ hate this. Sure iMessage uses data, but probably a paltry amount (if you don’t attach ginormous photos that is) whereas SMS, oh that’s been a carrier cash cow since it came out.
