Apple's Lawsuit Against Samsung Over Design Patent Infringement Will Get a New Trial

U.S. District Court Judge, Lucy Koh, who has been part of the Apple v Samsung lawsuit regarding design patent infringement has ordered that there should be a new trial to ascertain whether the quantum of the penalties awarded to Apple is adequate or if adjustments should be made to the amount. As it stands, Samsung is required to pay $399 million as damages for copying the iPhone’s design with a number of Samsung smartphones. Continue reading
