How is Battery Life after updating to iOS 7.1.1?

Apple released iOS 7.1.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch earlier in the week with improvements to Touch ID fingerprint recognition and bug fixes. There was no mention of battery life improvements in the release notes, however ZDNet claims that the latest iOS version seems to includes under-the-hood changes that improves battery life to surpass even the respectable performance reported for iOS 6.
