Apple Overtakes Samsung To Become No.1 Mobile Phone Vendor In The U.S.
Apple overtook Samsung to become the number one mobile phone vendor in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to research firm Strategy Analytics. According to the report, Apple shipped 17.7 million iPhones, grabbing a record 34% of the market share in the fourth quarter of 2012. It was up sharply from  12.8 million units shipped and 25.4 percent market share in the fourth quarter of 2011.  Continue reading

According to IDG iPad shipments increased only a paltry 48% year over year in Q4 2012 vs Q4 2011. Samsung, 263% increase. Nice. Yeah, but increases in numbers need to have a little perspective attached and when you look at units shipped, Apple is still killing it. Continue reading
