Apple granted patent for smart navigation system based on crowd-sourced stop light data

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday granted Apple with a patent pertaining to a smart navigation system based on crowd-sourced traffic information, including when and how long motorists are at stop signs or stop lights. The information could then be used to predict delays attributable to the stop signs or lights and determine faster routes and departure time suggestions.  Continue reading

Apple Stores to begin selling iPhones on U.S Carriers Early Upgrade Programs next month

According to sources for the well-connected blogger Mark Gurman, Apple Stores will soon begin selling the iPhone on the AT&T Next, Verizon Edge and T-Mobile JUMP early upgrade programs in the United States. Apple could be preparing to refresh its Retina MacBook Pro lineup with improved hardware as soon as tomorrow, according to a pair of reports that surfaced over the weekend and this morning.
