Apple Ordered to Pay WiLan $145.1 Million in Damages for Patent Infringement

WiLan, a patent troll or as it describes itself as “one of the most successful patent licensing companies in the world” which helps “companies unlock the value of intellectual property by managing and licensing their patent portfolios,” has won a legal dispute against Apple which first started in 2010. The company claimed that Apple had violated two of its patents related to the wireless communication technology including Bluetooth with the iPhone. Continue reading
