Apple Helps Develop New Environment-friendly Aluminum Smelting Method

Apple has managed to get Aluminium giants Alcoa Corporation and Rio Tinto Aluminum to sign a joint venture to commercialize patented technology that will help eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from aluminum production. Apple says it helped accelerate the development of this technology, and along with the two companies, it has partnered with the Governments of Canada and Quebec to jointly invest $144 million to support future R&D.
