The new Photos app in iOS 10 has added some smart search and filtering features. It’s doing something similar to what Google Photos does but here, all the AI stuff is done on your device itself, not on the cloud. And the app isn’t scanning any of your personal data. This means that it has the ability to scan all your photos and tag them, and then pull together all the photos of the person. But there’s no way Apple knows who that person is.
