 The iPhone SE (an acronym for Special Edition) was an odd-ball launch for Apple last year. An iPhone forged from of the same shell as the 2013 iPhone 5s, it had updated internals like the A9 chip and a 12 megapixel camera from the iPhone 6s that launched six months before. Back in July, the battle over net neutrality was reignited all over again, and it’s one that does not appear to be going quietly into the night anytime soon. 
Apple today sent out invites for its iPhone 8 event on September 12 at 10 am PT. The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park — Apple’s new campus. 
Smart speakers are all the rage among OEMs. While smart speakers have exploded in popularity, they still have a long way to go. Apple is also slated to jump on the smart speaker bandwagon with its HomePod speaker later this year. As for today, Sony is jumping into the market with its LF-S50G connected speaker. 
The latest note published by analyst firm Barclays speculates that Apple will be bundling Apple Music subscription and free additional iCloud storage space to tempt customers into buying the $1,000+ iPhone 8. 
As per a Samsung Display source quoted by the Korea Herald, the 2019 iPhone will be available in a 6.46-inch “Plus” model, alongside the iPhone 8 successor, which will sport a 5.85-inch display. This theory makes sense given that Apple historically likes having only two flagship iPhones at launch. While this year will mostly likely be an exception with the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and the 7s Plus, the company wouldn’t want a repeat of this in the future. 
iOS 11 is the final nail in the 32-bit coffin. iOS 11 just won't run any 32-bit apps on iPhone and iPad. For most of us, this shouldn't be a big problem. Apple has been taking steps toward this move for two years now and all the major apps are already updated for a 64-bit system. But of course, are are some outliers. 
A new report mentions that Apple has joined Bain Capital in its bid to purchase Toshiba’s NAND flash memory business. It is said that Bain Capital has raised ¥2.2 trillion ($18.2 billion) towards the acquisition, which includes an 18% investment or ¥400 billion ($3.62 billion) from Apple. It was previously reported that Apple, Dell, and Google were part of a consortium formed by Foxconn to acquire Toshiba’s NAND business, although nothing came of that. 
Apple has informed Chinese media outlets that WeChat users in the country will now be able to use WeChat Pay as a payment method in the App Store and for Apple Music subscription. WeChat Pay is extremely popular in China, with a market share of almost 40 percent.

Technically speaking, Project Titan still exists, even if Apple’s goals seem to be focused more on software than building an outright vehicle.
